King Poker Room at Star World
Easily one of the most popular poker rooms in Macau (maybe not the most visited, which is probably The Wynn Poker Room) is King Poker Room at Star World Casino. Having many of the poker rooms close down, the King Poker Room at Star World still has its doors open to the public, and isn’t as crowded as Wynn. It is located on the 3rd floor of the Star World Casino.
Often seeing some of the top names in poker, it is best known for having some of the worlds biggest tournaments in poker. This poker room is easily the room of choice for many of the world’s pro players. The Asia Poker Tour holds its tournaments here. You will find an array of different limit games and you can probably find something that fits your bankroll. They offer No Limit, Hold em’, Pot Limit Omaha, and Sit n’ Go games here. There is also a superior loyalty program here.
Star World Casino & Hotel Resort
Star World Casino & Hotel Resort is simply out of this world and second to none. You really have to see this place to believe it. The pictures here are capable of showing you how spectacular and breath-taking the architecture of this building is, but the atmosphere and service here is something you truly must experience to gain the full scope of. It is absolutely splendid and beyond description, the sheer luxury and accommodation of all that this place has to offer is beyond your wildest dreams! Between the superb gaming experience and perfected customer service, this casino hotel resort is truly one of the best in the world!
Star World Casino in Macau was by far our favorite casino when we visited the region in early 2013. It is more than just a magnificent piece of architectural artistry and wonder – although this gargantuan structure towering over the Macau landscape is truly a breath-taking sight to behold seemingly defying the laws of physics as its suites jut out from the top and hang over the sides in an elegantly mind-boggling fashion. This beautiful resort plays host to an incredible selection of casino games and high-stakes gambling opportunities. It boasts a massive and impressive repertoire of amenities and luxury offerings that will leave you speechless.
We stayed at eight different casino complexes and without any hesitation, Star World was by far our favorite resort in the entire region. Favorite lodging, favorite architecture, best view (and there were plenty of good views), best customer service by all accounts, and hand down, best casino for both it’s VIP game rooms and it’s mass market game rooms. There is also a fantastic membership program offering an array of perks and complimentary benefits to those guests of Galaxy properties who find themselves casually returning to any of the Galaxy properties found around the world. Members will definitely get their moneys worth after signing up for this prestigious Galaxy Privilege Club Card program. This program is just icing on the cake in addition to their truly impressive arsenal of generous accommodations and services, but it is definitely worth inquiry in our books. This resort has it all and presents it with pristine execution. It is a 5-star resort by all accounts that has more than earned a flawless review from us here at Macau Casinos.
Something is just different about Galaxy properties, and we say this in plural because our second favorite casino was definitely the Galaxy Macau Mega Resort in Cotai, refer to our massive review of the property here. Make no mistake, these properties are beyond imagination in every regard, we had the time of our lives here. The staff at Galaxy properties and Star World in particular were extremely polite, and went above and beyond for us – even going out of their way to recommend other properties in the region. This attitude went a long way with us for sure.
Another perk to staying at the Star World Hotel is it’s convenient location. It sits in the heart of downtown Macau, where you’ll find yourself only a short walk away from the many excellent gaming hot spots of the region. Some of the finest casinos in the world call the Macau Peninsula home. Among these you’ll find the Casino Lisboa and the Grand Lisboa, Wynn Macau Resort, MGM Macau, and Emperor’s Palace at the Grand Emperor to name a few – there are tons of wonderful luxury casinos in the region, all a short walk from this beautiful resort. As we mentioned many times however, if you find yourself at Star World you’ve made the right choice, this resort was our favorite for so many reasons – still, no trip to Macau is complete without taking in all this city has to offer! Besides just the casinos and golden gambling opportunities, there are so many sources of entertainment that make this the vacation destination of a lifetime! You can read more about all this city has to offer by checking out our article on the cultural sites of Macau, or reading about other entertainment opportunities and tourist attractions throughout the various regional districts. Don’t leave Macau without taking in as much of this wonderful and exciting city as you possibly can!
Add the absolutely impeccable gaming floor, decadent in every way and wonderfully structured rewards card for the casino that works at all Galaxy properties throughout Macau and Cotai. We found ourselves headed right back to the Star World Casino on evenings when we were already comfortably lodged at other fine establishments, just to enjoy the coffee in the lobby bar and catch one of their excellent live performances. There are over 240 slot machines and a massive array of tables and luxury gambling machines, as well as a host of entertainment to choose from. The Star World Galaxy Casino was by far our favorite casino in the year of 2013 and will definitely earn another visit when we next return.
Rooms range in price from $204 – $230 a night here, for standard accommodations and amenities.
