Gaming at the Macau Jockey Club & Racing Complex:
Watching the horse races is easy from the four story public grandstand set for accommodating patrons of the MJC. In order to enter you must be at least 18 years of age. There is no mobile phone use allowed anywhere on the property to prevent cheating in the betting on races. Live streaming of the races is available on their website as well.
There is a separate racing complex where the tables and boxes can be found. The complex is five stories tall offering more luxurious boxes on the higher levels.
Macau Jockey Club & Racing Complex
Macau Jockey Club and Racing Complex (MJC) opened in 1980 as the Macau Trotting Club offering betting on harness racing. It was in 1989, with a change of ownership by Dr. Stanley Ho switched the focus of the track to the more popular thoroughbred horse racing. The change and it’s new name stand today as the MJC we’ve come to know and love. The horses raced and trained here today hail from the US, Canada, Japan, France, Singapore and more making it a truly international jockey club. More than 600 horses are training and racing here at the MJC today. The Macau Jockey Club and Racing Complex is one of the only places in the eastern hemisphere where you can bet on live horse races.
There are two tracks for racing here at the Macau Jockey Club and Racing Complex. One 1,600 meter turf track (370 meter straight), and a 1,400 meter sand track. In 1999 the sand track was completely rebuilt. The four story grandstand open to the public can accommodate for seating up to 15,000 people on race days. You must be at least 18 years of age or older to enter the Macau Jockey Club and Racing Complex.
The best choice when it comes to conveniently located lodging at a hotel is the Grandview Hotel and the Hotel Taipa Square Casino right across the street. There is a small casino found here at both the Grandview hotel and Hotel Taipa Square Casino but more importantly it is located right next to the race track.
