Cultural Sites, Museums and Other Attractions:

Cotai itself is one of the regions more recently developed districts of Macau. That doesn’t necessarily mean it isn’t rich in history. However, there aren’t any cultural sites in the region but rather just south of it.

There are tons of attractions found just outside of this region, to the south in Coloane. Due to it’s proximity to Coloane we will list attractions the attractions and cultural sites of that region here. You’ll find some incredible attractions that the whole family can enjoy in Coloane. Macao Giant Panda Pavilion

Macao Giant Panda Pavilion:

The Macao Giant Panda Pavilion can be found near SEAC Pai Van Park. The Panda Pavilion is home to the giant pandas of Macao. Their status as an endangered species means they are kept here in captivity for safety. They are here for observation, study, and your enjoyment and understanding. This park is an excellent place for families to visit and is a zoo of the regions animals in a sense.

SEAC Pai Van Park:

The SEAC Pai Van Park is a 198,000 square meters collection of facilities. It is also a great destination for families and is in close proximity to the Macao Giant Panda Pavilion. In it you’ll find parks, gardens, preservation of land, and other nature based attractions. The park is one of the greatest tourist attractions in Coloane. There are tons of activities especially for families to participate in.

A-Ma Culture Village Temple

A-Ma Cultural Village:

The A-Ma Cultural Village  is a 7000 square meter cultural complex devoted to A-ma. A-ma is the goddess of seafarers and merchants, and oversees their safety. Also found at the top of the hill where this site is located is the largest statue of A-ma in the world. The site of this temple and cultural complex is quite a lot to take it. It replicates an ancient Chinese temple and is a rather large complex of great wonder and beauty. It is highly recommended as a destination to check out if you are in Cotai and wish to venture to Coloane.

Hac Sa Reservoir Country Park:

The Hac Sa Reservoir Park is a large conservation park found in Coloane. There are many activities found here for the whole family to enjoy. Kayak rentals are a popular activity here in the park, well worth the adventure. This area is full of nature trails as well and is well worth the visit, it is highly recommended on our list of things to do here in Coloane.

Tam Kong Temple:

Tam Kong Temple is the farthest south cultural site we have listed. It is found on the very southern-most point of the island. This temple is an older one dedicated to Tam Kong – the male god of seafarers. It is decorated with beautiful paintings, tiled roofs, and porcelain figures and statues. All around the temple you’ll find incense and shops selling it. Admission to this temple is free, and there are others nearby worth visiting, just ask anyone at the temple and they’ll point you there.
