Montanha Russa Park
Despite being located in the bustling suburban region of northern Macau, this quiet recreational retreat is found next to the New Protestant Cemetery. The name “Russa” has its origins in the Chinese word for a snail, and applied to the park it describes the small spiral path winding up to the top of the hill like that of a snails shell.
The garden bears several hidden benches, a favorite destination for lovers seeking the privacy of secluded seating. You will also find an impressive concentration of a wide variety of tropical and European imported tree species, each one precariously labeled in both Latin and Chinese. There is an excellent indoor and outdoor Portuguese restaurant in the middle of a garden near the parks entrance.
