The Macao Science Center
The Macao Science Center was designed by the internationally renowned Chinese-American architect I. M. Pei and is instantly recognizable for its silver, conical exterior. There are fourteen galleries in all, arranged in a spiral and accentuated by the arching shape of the structure they reside within.
After Beijing and Hong Kong, Macau is the third city in the world to possess the 8000 x 8000 pixel LED screen featured at this Science center. The Center also generates 3D effects via a high definition projection system in it’s Space Theater of the Planetarium, the first digital system in the world to feature both an ultra-high definition screen and 3D visual effects. All of this is designed to give visitors an entertaining and highly educational insight into the fascinating world of modern scientific discoveries. In addition to this feature, a 1:1 ratio scale model of the Shenzhou-VII spaceship and a number of artificially intelligent robots will be featured in the brand-new Macao Science Center.
