Architecture of Lilau Square

This area was ones one of the first Portuguese residential quarters of Macau, and the homes here were designed with a typically Mediterranean atmosphere later infused with some Art Deco influences. This was in stark contrast to the nearby traditional Chinese architecture of the Mandarin’s House residential complex, and is a clear example of fusion of Western and Chinese urban and architectural design concepts.
