The Former Residence of General Ye Ting
The late General Ye Ting, was a prominent military leader and one of the main pioneers of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. He spent seven years living in Macau, and in commemoration of his significant role in China’s modern history, the Macau SAR Government has made a series of restoration efforts on his former residence in Macau. These efforts started in 2006 and included raising a bronze sculpture in the front yard and a series of installations of photo exhibitions throughout the mansion. This museum was formally and officially opened to the public on May 28th 2014.
The two story, western style mansion occupies a space of some 180 square meters including its front yard. Entering the Former Residence of General Ye Ting, visitors can find the mansion furnished with numerous pieces of the original furniture and decor from when the General himself took residence here. Housing a display of antique photos, General Ye Ting’s Former Residence is a landmark in his honor and bears witness to his life in Macau with his family in the bygone years of his life.
